Child poverty study 'lacking'
Some criticism has come from Whangarei's Child Poverty Action Group on the the Child Poverty Monitor Technical Report from the Children's Commissioner, J R McKenzie Trust and University of Otago.
The report found in 2013 about 260,000 children, or 24 per cent of children in New Zealand, were living in poverty. But Sherry Carne of the Action Group noted that Northland would prove worse off than the rest of the country and that such reports needed to look at each unique region.
